Abandoned Kids Living in Limbo

Posted:

Lincoln, NE - Three judges will decide what happens to several kids who were abandoned at an Omaha Hospital.

The Staton nine found themselves left at Creighton University Medical Center.  Their father dropped them off under Nebraska's Safe Haven law.

The seven youngest brothers and sisters are living with family in Lincoln.  A juvenile court judge ordered them out this week, partly because of cramped conditions in their aunt's home.

The children's grandfather tells Action 3 News the kids now have bunk beds so they each have their own place to sleep.  The kids will stay with family until a three-judge panel decides where they should go next.
