Des Moines, IA--The blizzard did not stop 230 members of the Iowa National Guard from returning home for Christmas. The airmen were returning from Iraq.
The plane landed on Christmas Eve. It was delayed two days because of weather on the east coast.
"I was a little nervous. It was kind of shaky for a while. It's awesome to be home for Christmas," remarked relieved Senior Airman Eric Tate.
Family and friends were eagerly awaiting their arrivals. Some of the soldiers came home bearing gifts.
