COZAD, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say 3 people have died in crashes as a powerful winter storm continues its trek across Nebraska.
The State Patrol says 37-year-old Derek Loux of Grandview, Mo., died after the sport utility vehicle he was riding in near Cozad lost control and rolled along Interstate 80 around 4 Wednesday morning. The driver was taken to a hospital, but the extent of his injuries wasn't known.
The patrol says Betty Nelson of Eaton, Colo., died after a crash Tuesday in heavy fog on I-80 near Chappell in the Nebraska Panhandle. Authorities say she was struck from behind by a semi after traffic slowed.
Authorities also named 42-year-old Lesley Jankausky of Morrison, Colo., as the victim of a Tuesday crash blamed on black ice on I-80 near Paxton.
