Associated Press - November 23, 2009 5:25 PM ET

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha police say the 15-year-old boy who fired at officers during a traffic stop Friday will be charged as an adult.

Police said Monday that Cameron Williams of Bellevue fired at police twice before Officer Josiah Warren fired five times and struck Williams in the chest.

Williams remained in critical condition Monday, and Warren has been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.

Police say Williams was in a car that was stopped near Interstate 80 in central Omaha Friday afternoon for having expired plates. After the car was stopped, Williams ran and then fired at police.

Two 20-year-old men Omaha who were also in the car were arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver.
