CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - Jake Waters has won a second state title as a quarterback - and it came a whole lot easier than the first.
Waters scored three touchdowns and Jake Gentile ran for two more Saturday to lead Council Bluff St. Albert to a 35-0 victory against Calmar South Winneshiek and the Class 1A state championship.
Capping a 14-0 season, the Falcons captured their third title in four years and fourth since 2004.
Waters also was the starting quarterback on St. Albert's 2007 championship team, which held off Iowa City Regina that year with several big defensive stops. The Falcons also played solid defense in this year's championship, holding South Winneshiek (12-2) to 43 yards in the first half and 191 for the game.
