Meyer expects emotional, fun night against K-State

Associated Press - November 18, 2009 6:25 AM ET

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska backup offensive lineman Derek Meyer says no one could write a better script for his Senior Night on Saturday.

The Cornhuskers are playing for the Big 12 North title against Kansas State - the school where Meyer started his college career in 2005.

The Campbell, Neb., native redshirted his first season and played five games for the Wildcats in 2006 before missing the rest of the year and all of 2007 with an injury. He transferred to Nebraska, sat out last year and received a scholarship from coach Bo Pelini in August.

Meyer said he'll be emotional, yet enjoy every moment being on the field against his old school and the coach who originally recruited him, Bill Snyder.
