KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - A former Kearney school teacher and coach has been found guilty of giving alcohol to a 17-year-old Sidney girl.

Shane Nordby was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of procuring alcohol for a minor on Tuesday, but a Buffalo County jury cleared him of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The 37-year-old Nordby was a third-grade teacher at Bryant Elementary before he resigned in February after he was ticketed. Nordby had also been an assistant Kearney High School volleyball and track coach.

A sentencing date has not been set.
