LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Lincoln police have accused a 38-year-old man of having sex with his girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter and later helping the girl run away from home.
Police arrested Daniel Totenhagen Monday on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault and child abuse.
Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says the girl told her mom last month about having sex with Totenhagen in September before she ran away.
Flood says Totenhagen drove the 15-year-old and a 17-year-old girl to Omaha in September to help them run away. Police say Totenhagen may have also helped the 17-year-old cut off an ankle bracelet used to monitor people sentenced to house arrest.
