Omaha man gets 6 years on child porn charge

Associated Press - October 29, 2009 5:35 PM ET

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A 21-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to six years in prison for receiving child pornography.

Edgar Daniel Bravo-Gonzalez was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court. He also faces five years supervised release after he leaves prison if he isn't deported.

Court records show he pleaded guilty to the charge in June after striking a deal with prosecutors.

A news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office says Bravo-Gonzalez was arrested in March after a search of his home turned up several videos of child pornography.

The Nebraska State Patrol says investigators came across Bravo-Gonzalez in October 2008 when they were searching for people sharing child pornography over the Internet.
