LEXINGTON, Neb. (AP) - A Nebraska man has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for making a bomb threat last year that forced the evacuation of a Cozad manufacturing plant.
Kevin Bates of Gothenburg had pleaded guilty in Dawson County District Court to threatening to use an explosive device.
Authorities say the 34-year-old Bates called automotive parts manufacturer Tenneco on Nov. 4 and told a receptionist that a bomb was in the building.
Bates was sentenced Friday to 20 to 60 months in prison on the threat charge.
Bates also was sentenced to 20 to 60 months in a separate case for holding a woman against her will in December.
The sentences are to be served one after the other.
