DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (AP) - Jurors will resume deliberations Tuesday in the trial of an Iowa man accused of a 1997 killing in Dakota County.
Andrew Orellana was charged in May with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Joaquin Guerrero on Oct. 7, 1997.
Prosecutors say Orellana shot Guerrero in retaliation for a gang shooting two days before.
The trial began Oct. 5, and the Dakota County jury got the case on Friday. Jurors deliberated for a few hours before being dismissed until Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, another man is also suspected of first-degree murder in Guerrero's death. A warrant for Jesus Armando Guerra was issued in June, but he hasn't been found.
