NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - A Nebraska City man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and a weapons charge.

Thirty-1-year-old Jeremy Haag appeared in Otoe County District Court on Monday. He is accused of shooting and killing 27-year-old Adessa Esser. Authorities found her in her home June 5 suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died at a hospital.

Haag's trial is set for Dec. 7.
