GERING, Neb. (AP) - A Bayard man accused of holding his girlfriend against her will at his home for more than a week has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges.
After striking a deal with prosecutors, Ken Krantz pleaded no contest Thursday in Scotts Bluff County District Court to stalking and carrying a concealed weapon.
Prosecutors have dropped other charges, including kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Krantz abducted his girlfriend on Dec. 23 from a Scottsbluff Wal-Mart, took her to his Bayard home and held her until Jan. 3.
Police also said Krantz had an unloaded handgun and a bottle of codeine that did not belong to him when he was arrested.
Sentencing is set for Sept. 2.
