Iowa teen injured in collision on lake

SPENCER, Iowa, (AP) - An Algona teenager has been injured in a collision between personal watercraft on Lost Island Lake east of Spencer.

Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources say that 13-year-old David Klein was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Sunday.

Officials say Klein was operating a personal watercraft when he crossed in front of another personal watercraft operated by 13-year-old Conner Langerman of Whittemore.

Klein's condition was not available. Langerman and his passenger, 13-year-old Morgan Muller of Whittemore, were treated at the scene.

The DNR says that Klein and Langerman had both completed the agency's boater education program.
