Teddy Bear Spy

Omaha, NE - A messy divorce turns into a case of "spies like us" and you won't believe where the bug supposedly turned up. A child's favorite toy allegedly becomes a mother's spying device.

Duke Lewton filed a case in federal court accusing his ex-wife of spying on him through their own daughter. The case claims, Lewton's ex-wife got crafty in the battle over custody of their daughter. According to court documents, the girl "took Little Bear (her teddy) nearly everywhere". It states, her mom, Dianna Divingnzzo, "inserted a recording device" inside the teddy bear. And when dad had visitation with his daughter their conversations were reportedly secretly taped.

"Being her favorite teddy bear, I just can't fathom the thought of somebody taking the little bear's head off and putting a bugging device for whatever reason," says Lewton.

Lewton found out about all of this during the custody hearing. The judge threw out the audio tapes.

Lewton is suing for invasion of privacy and violation of the wiretapping law. He's seeking 100-thousand dollars.
