
Council Bluffs, IA - Cops rush in when a wedding reception turns into a crime scene in Council Bluffs. One groomsman ended up with stab wounds. It happened on Friday night in Bayliss Park.
The victim, 40-year old Rick Thomas tells Action 3 News he was outside a reception hall with some other wedding guests, when two men drove up in a car. He says they picked a fight with some reception guests, then went on the attack.
Police reports accuse 23-year old Clifford Ellis of punching a guest in the face with brass knuckles. They also say 41-year old Dean Sime held another person at knife point.
Thomas tells us when he rushed over to help that person, Sime stabbed him. "It went in almost three inches," Thomas says.
Thomas went to the hospital, but is now out and recovering. He has a stab wound to his stomach and arm. "My shirt has 6 or 7 extra holes in it where he was trying to cut me," Thomas says. "I just couldn't believe it."
