Omaha, NE - Information is slowly coming out about the man who shot 8 people to death inside Westroads Mall Wednesday.

Police say Robert Hawkins withdrew from Papillion-La Vista High School in March of 2006.  He was not living with his family.  Another family had taken him in.

The woman he was living with tells Action 3 News Hawkins left a suicide note.  She also says he was recently fired from his job.  It has not been confirmed whether that played a role in his decision to open fire at Von Maur. 

Sources also tells Action 3 News that Hawkins recently tried to get into the Army but was not allowed to join.  We are told that in October, Hawkins took the "Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test."  He did poorly on the test and was not allowed to join the Army.
