Lincoln, NE - Attorney General Jon Bruning's campaign manager says Bruning has no plans to pull out of the race for Chuck Hagel's U.S. Senate seat. The "Lincoln Journal-Star" is reporting that Bruning plans to withdraw sometime next week. President Bush will be in the state next month to raise money for Mike Johanns - Bruning's top competition.
Last week, Action 3 News asked Bruning if he plans to be in the race until the end. He said, "Yes. I'm running hard and running to win."
On Monday night, Bruning's campaign manager, Jordan McGrain, said the Journal Star report is based on speculation and rumors. He says the attorney general is not leaving the race.
