Police Officers Outnumber Protestors at Anti-Immigration Rally

Updated:

Omaha, NE - Hundreds of officers were ready for confrontations at a rally sponsored by the National Socialist Movement outside the Mexican Consulate at 35th & Dodge.  Nothing happened.  The rally ended an hour early and the estimated crowd of about 200 left.

National Socialist Captain Jim Ludacka tells Action 3 News, the goal of the protest is "to wake up white America to the illegal alien problem that's coming in and taking your job, my job, your son's job and my son's job.  Tell the government we've had enough and we're not going to take it anymore."

Carolyn Moon stood outside the demonstration area, "When evil descends on your city, you should be here confronting it.  So that's why I came."

Dodge street was closed from 33rd to 38th street and police barricades separated the groups of protestors.  Aside from taunting and name-calling, the demonstration was uneventful.
