Omaha police release names of shooting victims

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Police have told relatives about the shooting deaths of 2 Omaha residents and have released the victims' names.

Killed Monday were 15-year-old Everett Williams, a sophomore at Benson High School; and 38-year-old James Dancer.

Police say that around 3:10 p.m., officers were called to investigate a shooting near 48th and Bedford Avenue. They found Williams in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

About four hours later, officers were called to a home near 61st and Jaynes. They found Dancer, who had been shot several times. He was pronounced dead there.

No arrests have been reported.

Police say it's unclear whether the shootings are related.
