LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A former state senator says he'll have his new radio station up and running next month in the Lincoln area.
John DeCamp told the Lincoln Journal Star that he'll start the station on the internet, then on 1710 AM as KOLD.
DeCamp says former state senator Ernie Chambers will host a weekly talk show on the station.
The 68-year-old DeCamp says KOLD will be a low-power, 24-hour commercial station that will feature 1950s and '60s music in the mornings, a talk format in the afternoons and classic radio shows - "The Shadow" and "The Jack Benny Show" - in the evenings and overnight.
DeCamp was a state senator from Neligh from 1971 to 1987.
He says he's starting KOLD because no other station in the area plays the kind of music he likes.
