Oakland, IA-- Pottawattamie County and Council Bluffs Public Health Officials will be conducting an H1N1 Clinic on Monday, November 30th from 4pm-8pm. The clinic will be held at the Oakland Community Center, 129 Harrison Street in Oakland.
Only those meeting the CDC Priority Groups are eligible for vaccination; they are:
Caregivers or household contacts of children 6 months and younger,
Children 6 months old through 24 years old,
Pregnant women,
Healthcare workers,
People 25 years of age and older with a health condition that places them at greater risk for flu related complications.
Public Health officials would like to remind parents with children under 10 that those children should receive a second dose of the H1N1 vaccine. There must be at least 28 days between the first vaccination and the second dose. Parents are encouraged to check their child's immunization card received after their first dose to see if they are due for their booster.
Those qualifying for vaccination or their booster dose should visit the H1N1 Information Website at www.pottcounty.com and check the "vaccination clinics" link to verify times, location, and priority group eligibility. Complete a vaccination consent form for each person eligible to help expedite your clinic visit. The consent form can be found on the vaccination clinics page of the website.
