Omaha, NE - A man attacks another outside a strip mall near 32nd and Q last night, that's when two good samaritans step in to help.
Video cameras catch a man on the attack, brutally beating a victim outside a south Omaha strip mall.
Here's how it started; moments earlier the attacker lurks in the shadows, then sneaks up on two men who just left a restaurant. He says something to them, goes inside the restaurant, then comes back out with gun in hand and starts pistol whipping this man in the blue jacket.
Restaurant owner Samuel Gomez Junior and his father rushed outside to help. "Seen the guy get hit behind the head with a gun and tried to stop him," said good samaritan, Samuel Gomez Jr.
Defending himself, the victim gets free as the suspect runs toward his car. Then that's when Samuel Gomez steps in, trying to take the man's car keys. During the struggle, his father takes out his own gun and shoots. "My dad shot his tires out," said Gomez.
But two flat tires didn't stop the suspect. He manages to drive away. Gomez says he and his dad just did what was right. "You just don't want anyone to get hurt," said Gomez.
Police say the suspect is a hispanic male with black hair,
5'8 with a thin build, possibly 30 to 35-years-old.
The victim pistol whipped Thursday night was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
