Omaha, NE: Doctors at The Nebraska Medical Center are taking action to relieve the H1N1 strain that's being felt in emergency rooms. Friday, staff moved in boxes of medical supplies trying to brace for the flu rush. They're opening a clinic to treat people who might have the H1N1 virus.
The clinic will not be giving vaccinations. Doctors say people should come to the clinic instead of clogging up the emergency room. Dr. Donald Darst says, "Our emergency room is being overwhelmed with patients that have flu like illness. Those people are contagious, we don't want them to give the flu to the people that are not in the emergency room waiting room."
The clinic is not free but will be cheaper than going to the emergency room. The H1N1 clinic is located in the Clarkson Tower at 42nd and Dewey. It will open Sunday, November, 8th and will have regular hours. Weekdays doors will be open from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Weekends the clinic will be open from 2:00pm until 10:00pm.
