Exclusive: Rottweiler Attacks Man

Posted:

Omaha, NE - A Rottweiler attacks a man, leaving him with bite marks on his right arm.  The attack happened at 4519 Jaynes Street around nine o'clock Thursday morning.  One of our cameras are there when the Nebraska Humane Society takes the Rottweiler into custody and the dog's owner apologizes to the man attacked.

Brett Peterson was hired to install a satellite dish at the home.  He tells Action 3 News, the dog lunged through a back window and chomped on his arm.  Peterson ran for the front door.

Brett Peterson:  "Scared.  I've never had a dog attack me before."

The Rottweiler was trapped in it's owner's vehicle until the Nebraska Humane Society arrived on scene.  An Animal Control Officer reached through a small gap in the window to collar the dog.  He then lead the Rottweiler through the front yard and into a cage in the back of his van.  While Peterson will be okay, he believes the attack could have been much worse.

Brett Peterson:  "We're gonna go get some shots real quick."

The Rottweiler's owner got a ticket.  The dog was not licensed or up-to-date on vaccinations.
