Teen With Gun Scare Locks Down High School

Fears regarding a teenager armed with a gun forced officials to lockdown Millard North High School as a precaution.  As it turned out, police say the teen did indeed have two guns in his possession, but was nowhere near the school.

It started as a call to look for the missing 16-year-old.  He was walking up to the front door of Millard High Tuesday morning with his grandmother when for some reason he suddenly bolted away and towards his home.  Police say that's when he stole two guns from his father's gun safe.

Not knowing where the teen was, the school was put into 'lockdown' with all exterior doors secured.  It ended when the teen was found by his father in the area of 62nd and Chicago Streets.

The teen is under arrest for theft, and police say at no time did he make any threats regarding the school.
