BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - 1 of Beatrice's best-kept secrets is about to be revealed.
Since 1968, the Beatrice Bakery has been making fruitcakes and shipping them across the world.
In December, the bakery will expand its international recognition when its Grandma's Bake Shop Fruitcakes are featured on Food Network's "Unwrapped."
Several months ago, officials from Beatrice Bakery submitted the company's name to the producers of "Unwrapped."
"Unwrapped" executive producer Tom Giesen says when the show began looking at holiday items to feature in their upcoming special, fruitcake was on the list.
The one-hour show is slated to air several time between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, featuring 12 different types of holiday foods.
